To ask the Minister for Communities to detail how he will continue to fund the work of PlacenamesNI.org.

Answer:

Funding for the work of the Northern Ireland Placenames Project (www.placenamesni.org) was transferred from the Department of Finance to the Department for Communities in 2022. Funding is available to continue the work until Summer 2026. Future funding options are currently being assessed by my officials.
