Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail any support, outside of nursing provision, provided to special schools to ensure the safety of those taking part in summer schemes.

Answer:

The Education Authority, Department of Health and my department will continue to work closely in order to operationalise summer schemes, including identifying each child’s needs in advance and putting the right support in place; completing site risk assessments; ensuring appropriate staffing levels and training; and providing oversight of activities for children and young people throughout the scheme.
