To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail any surveys that were carried out prior to the decision not move forward with the pedestrianisation of York Street, Belfast.

Answer:

My officials carried out a number of on-site observations with regard to pedestrian movements and vehicle volumes at York Street, Belfast. These observations confirmed that the current pedestrian crossing and overhead walkway between the university buildings were sufficient at this location.
