Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to detail any (i) action he is taking to protect the closed FLAME Gasworks Museum in Carrickfergus, including ensuring that the building, equipment and artefacts are preserved; and (ii) plans his Department has to secure the future of the museum and reopen it to the public.

Answer:

My Department continues to fulfil its statutory responsibility to maintain Carrickfergus Gasworks State Care Monument.

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council have responsibility for the gas appliances and artefacts; they remain in situ at the Gasworks.

There are currently no plans to reopen the site to the public.
