Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to detail how his Department is working with (i) the PSNI; and (ii) local councils, to ensure a coordinated response to antisocial behaviour.

Answer:
Antisocial behaviour is primarily a matter for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), which leads on operational response and enforcement. The Department for Communities does not have an operational role but engages with the PSNI and local councils through community planning arrangements.
In addition, responses to a joint Department of Justice and Department for Communities public consultation on antisocial behaviour legislation were published on 4 April 2025 and suggested a need for legislative reform. The Department is currently working with the Department of Justice and councils to consider appropriate next step.
