Question:
To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister, since the publication of the High Street Taskforce Report in March 2022, to detail any action (i) taken by their office to deliver a 21st Century High Street; (ii) taken to deliver on the report, including areas of success and areas of failure; (iii) they plan to take to deliver on the report, given the current economic environment in our high streets.

Answer:

The High Street Task Force’s Report “Delivering a 21st Century High Street” was submitted to The Executive Office and published on 22 March 2022. Junior Ministers who chaired the Task Force publicly accepted the report. Since then, a number of the recommendations have been taken forward by Ministerial colleagues at the Department for Communities, Department for the Economy, Department of Finance, and Department for Infrastructure. Further detail can be sought from those departments.
