Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities whether he plans to expand the Women's Centre Childcare Fund.

Answer:

There are no plans for an expansion of the current provision of the Womens Child Care Centre Fund.

This fund was established as an interim measure; Strategic Investment Board advised against expansion in advance of an agreed system wide childcare framework.

My officials are currently working on proposals on the future of the funding in light of the Executive’s Early Learning and Childcare Strategy.
