To ask the Minister for Infrastructure for an update on when she will introduce legislation to ban pavement parking in the 2022-27 Assembly mandate.

Answer:

Following my announcement on 5 November 2025, my officials are now taking forward work to develop the necessary legislation to introduce a blanket ban across the North on parking a vehicle wholly on the footway, parking across dropped kerbs and double parking. It is my aim to introduce these changes in the latter part of 2026, subject to the legislative process.
