Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail (i) when a mental health wellbeing intervention service in primary schools will be delivered; and (ii) how a mental wellbeing intervention service in primary schools will be funded.

Answer:

There has not been an assessment of need completed for a mental health wellbeing service for children in primary school.

Any future service would be subject to discussion with the Department of Health in the first instance, to establish need, the most appropriate and effective model for primary school age children as part of wider mental health services and therapies, all of which will be in the context of budget availability.
