Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail when he will make a decision on Downshire Primary School's development proposal to integrated status.

Answer:

Development Proposal (DP) 735 which proposes that Downshire Primary School will transform to Controlled Integrated Status, with effect from 1 September 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter, was published by the Education Authority on 11 September 2024.

I am currently reviewing the report submitted to me by officials and, as I explained previously, the assessment of a DP is a complex process and requires careful consideration of all evidence to ensure decisions are taken in the best interests of children.

I am aware of the desire for early clarity on this issue and I hope to be in a position to make a decision on the proposal shortly.
