Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail the number of primary schools that have dedicated libraries, as defined by the National Literacy Trust.

Revised Answer:

Further to my previous responses of 18 May 2026, the Education Library Service (ELS) has provided the following information:

‘ELS does not hold a register of schools with dedicated library spaces. Schools’ use of space will adapt according to need and enrolment over time, and it is understood this can impact on capacity to provide a library space as described. Many schools endeavour to utilise space throughout their buildings and site for this purpose’.
