Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to detail any work he is undertaking to support the National Literacy Trust, and their mission to have libraries in all primary schools in Northern Ireland.

Answer:

In February 2026 I was pleased to speak at the Northern Ireland launch of the National Literacy Trust’s National Year of Reading and my Department is supporting Libraries NI in its delivery of a programme of activities around this initiative throughout the year. My Officials are continuing to engage with the Trust as they explore further projects for Northern Ireland.
