To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister to detail any reason the word equality does not appear in the title of the Framework for Race Relations.

Answer:

The draft Framework is intended to build on the achievements of the Racial Equality Strategy 2015-2025 and is intended to set the direction for collective work to realise our commitment to equality, fairness and justice for all in our communities.

At a Visioning Day which informed the draft Framework, feedback highlighted the need for a future approach that takes account of the changing society here and involves all communities in working towards its aims.

Consultation responses, including those on the title of the document are currently being collated for consideration by Ministers.
