Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail any further work that has been done to establish the number of children who are missing in education.

Answer:

The Department of Education (DE) have funded the Education Authority (EA) to create a defined CME Specialist Post to work in collaboration with 5 Nation CME colleagues to develop operational arrangements for schools and on the maintenance of data analysis.

A draft policy framework has been produced however as Children Missing Education (CME) was one of the priorities being consulted on within the Attendance Matters Strategy, this work is currently being refined following the consultation.
