To ask the Minister of Health to detail the number of appointments and procedures that were cancelled or postponed as a result of the computer system outage in the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust on 11 May 2026.

Answer:

Following the computer system outage within Belfast Health and Social Care Trust on Monday 11 May 2026, a manual count identified that 20 inpatient/day case procedures and 321 outpatient appointments were cancelled. Of these, 269 patients have since had their procedure or appointment rescheduled.

Belfast Health and Social Care Trust colleagues are urgently working to rebook all the remaining affected patients, ensuring that no one is disadvantaged as a result of the computer outage.
