To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail any dates when parking attendants have been active in Bangor City Centre, in the last three years, including the number of Penalty Charge Notices issued.

Answer:

My Department reviews its parking enforcement approach and schedules every six months, considering factors such as the type and extent of restrictions in the area, the level of demand from the public and elected representatives, the mix of residential and commercial streets, historical trends in Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs), and feedback from Traffic Attendants (TAs). Additional enforcement may also be deployed where emerging issues or persistent non-compliance are identified between review periods, resource permitted.

Bangor is currently included within a daily enforcement patrol schedule, with TAs deployed Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 18:00.

Donaghadee is included within routine enforcement patrols and is typically visited twice weekly by TAs. However, enforcement was suspended from March to November 2025 following an incident involving a TA that led to a police investigation.

Groomsport is not currently included in a weekly enforcement patrol, however, when requested and resource permits, TAs have visited the town as part of a mobile patrol.
