Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities for an update on the progress of the redevelopment of Casement Park.

Answer:

At the present time, a significant funding gap remains for the proposed stadium proposals with no clear route to securing further finance in the current public expenditure climate.

My officials are working with the GAA and other partners to bring about greater certainty to support the development of a project that is sustainable, affordable, reasonable and value for money. Work is underway to identify a way forward, which includes development of the corporate and governance structures to support this.

As I have previously stated, this is ultimately a GAA-led project, and they will

need to assess the affordability of the Stadium relative to their strategic needs and determine the appropriate next steps.
