Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy for an update on the Renewable Electricity Price Guarantee scheme.

Answer:

At the Executive meeting of 26th March 2026, the Executive agreed the Renewable Electricity Price Guarantee (REPG) scheme policy intent and to progress work on the Primary Bill required to implement the scheme.

My officials have now concluded work with the Office of Legislative Counsel to draft the Primary Bill.

The newly titled Renewable Electricity Generation Bill has been issued to the Executive for consideration. Subject to Executive approval, the Bill will then be introduced to the Assembly.

Once the Primary Bill is in place, subordinate regulations will be taken forward to set out operational arrangements for the scheme.
