Question:
To ask the Minister of Education whether sufficient support and oversight is in place to ensure the timely delivery of a new school building at Mary Queen of Peace Primary School in Glenravel, given the revised completion date of July 2027 extends beyond the current Assembly mandate.

Answer:

Construction of a new school building for Mary Queen of Peace Primary School commenced in March 2026, and the anticipated completion date is July 2027.

This project is contractually committed and therefore delivery of the new building will proceed to completion, independent of the current Assembly mandate.

Robust project management structures are in place to ensure the timely delivery of the new school, with an external Integrated Consultant Team managing the construction contractor to ensure project milestones are achieved.

The dedicated Project Board has oversight of the entire project and is responsible for ensuring programme and financial controls are adhered to.
