To ask the Minister of Health, pursuant to AQW 15429/22-27, whether the regional medical workforce review of consultants, specialists and associated specialists has completed the review of cardiology staffing needs.

Answer:

The regional medical workforce review of consultants, specialists and associate specialists carried out by the Cardiac Network established a staffing baseline. However, my Department’s Workforce Planning officials in collaboration with the Public Health Agency, have been carrying out a cardiology strategic workforce review. This review is ongoing.
