Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail any measures her Department plans to put in place to facilitate the reopening of the Maple Path and Parkmore footbridges, Craigavon.

Answer:

Maple Path and Parkmore Footbridges were closed to pedestrians and cyclists on 4th June in the interest of public safety, due to concerns over their structural integrity.

I appreciate the closures will cause disruption and would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. However, public safety is my Department’s primary consideration, and the decision has been taken based on expert engineering advice following a recent structural assessment.

Local diversionary routes are in place while options for a permanent solution are being developed.
