Question: To ask the Minister of Finance whether Post Office services operating from within another commercial premises are eligible for the same rates reliefs as standalone Post Office branches.
Answer:
Standalone Post Office branches may qualify for enhanced Small Business Rate Relief under the current scheme where their NAV falls within the relevant thresholds. Post Office services provided within another commercial premises do not qualify for the enhanced relief available to standalone branches. However, Post Office properties operating within other commercial premises may still qualify for standard Small Business Rate Relief if their NAV does not exceed £15,000 and they are not excluded under the multiples rule, which applies where there are more than three properties.
