Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities for an update on the Shaping Sustainable Places programme, including when it will be launched.

Answer:

The public consultation report for the Shaping Sustainable Places Programme was published on 30 April 2026. A joint briefing on the programme was held on 21 May 2026 with a concurrent sitting of the Committees for Communities, Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, and Infrastructure.

Given the cross-cutting nature of the programme, it will require Ministerial approval from each of the three sponsoring Departments, followed by final approval from the Executive. Subject to securing these approvals, it is anticipated that the programme will launch later in 2026.
