Question:
To ask the Minister of Education for an update on (i) the action contained within his TransformED Delivery plan to refresh the 2016 Learning Leaders Strategy and implementation plan to reflect current challenges and priorities, including the need for special educational needs specific professional learning; and (ii) any cost incurred as a result of this action.

Answer:

My Department’s consultation on Leading Together for Excellence: a TransformED Strategy for Teacher Professional Learning is currently live and will close on 6 July 2026. Responses will then be considered and a final strategy published by September 2026. Within the new strategy, I have committed to enhance Special Education Needs related professional learning for all teachers.

To date, £595 has been invested in delivering this commitment.
