Question:
To ask the Minister of Education for an update on (i) the action contained within his TransformED Delivery plan to pilot investment in the renewal and creation of subject professional learning communities to support subject-specific professional practice; and (ii) any cost incurred as a result of this action.

Answer:

My Department, in consultation with the Education Authority (EA), is developing a programme to support subjectspecific professional learning opportunities.

An initial review will look at best practice internationally and engage with key stakeholders to consider how best to design and deliver subjectspecific training and the purpose and scope of the professional learning communities. The programme is intended to be rolled out during the 2026/27 academic year.

No costs have been incurred to date.
