To ask the Minister of Health to detail any steps he will take to ensure accountability for senior figures involved in the sustained failings at Muckamore Abbey who now hold senior positions within his Department.

Answer:

My focus is on assessing the 106 Recommendations of the Muckamore Abbey Hospital Inquiry Report, as they apply to my Department. Those recommendations make no reference to me holding accountable senior figures involved in Muckamore who now hold senior positions within my Department. I encourage anyone with evidence of failures of professional conduct by anyone regarding the scandal of Muckamore Abbey Hospital to report that evidence urgently.
