Question:
To ask the Minister of Health whether consideration is being given to publishing regular regional adult safeguarding assurance reports, including trends, risks, learning and actions taken.

Answer:

The Department is committed to strengthening transparency, accountability and public reporting in relation to regional adult protection and safeguarding data.

The Report of the Muckamore Abbey Hospital Inquiry includes recommendations to enhance oversight of adult protection arrangements, including the introduction of a regular public safeguarding dashboard reporting on referrals, screening decisions and outcomes.

These recommendations are currently under active consideration by the Department. In the interim, arrangements will continue to be developed to improve the availability and consistency of regional safeguarding information pending the enactment of the Adult Protection Bill.
