Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure, pursuant to AQW 34971/22-27, whether there has been any further developments relative to (i) the acquisition of the land required for the construction of the B101 North Lisburn Feeder Road at Thaxton, given that the original estimated timeframe has elapsed; and (ii) whether her Department has received any indication from the developers as to when construction is expected to commence.

Answer:

My officials are continuing to explore options to purchase the land by agreement, therefore the vesting process has not yet commenced.

Construction of the road can only begin once the land has been purchased or vested with this process likely to take up to a year to complete. As such I cannot confirm a date for the commencement of construction.

My Department applied for an Application for a Certificate of Proposed Lawful Use of Development in December 2025 which the Department received from the Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council on the 2nd February 2026. This certificate extends the Planning Permission indefinitely.
