Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure, pursuant to AQW 47529/22-27, whether her Department will deploy traffic attendants to (i) Helen’s Bay; and (ii) Seapark, Holywood, on Sundays, during July to August 2026.

Answer:

Traffic Attendants (TAs) are currently deployed to Helen’s Bay and Seapark on random days and times from Monday to Saturday.

At both locations, parking pressures are largely seasonal and weatherrelated, arising primarily during periods of good weather when visitor demand exceeds available car park capacity. Furthermore, both locations have limited enforceable parking restrictions with many issues reported relating to obstruction which fall outside the Department’s enforcement remit and are a matter for the PSNI.

Whilst there are currently no plans to deploy TAs routinely on Sundays during July and August 2026, my Department will endeavour to undertake occasional unannounced Sunday patrols in these areas, subject to the availability of resources.
