To ask the Minister of Education to detail to what extent the work of the recently appointed Behaviour Tsar will draw on international best practice in relation to (i) nurture-based approaches; (ii) restorative practice; and (iii) relational approaches to learning.

Answer:

Tom Bennett OBE has been appointed as an independent expert to lead the Departmental Review of Behaviour Policy. The review is at an early stage and will take an evidence‑informed approach, drawing on a range of sources, including research and engagement with schools and stakeholders, as it progresses.

The review will have regard to relevant international best practice where appropriate.
