Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail the number of schools in North Down waiting for an assessment for a school crossing patrol.

Answer:

The Education Authority (EA) is responsible for the operation of the School Crossing Patrol (SCP) scheme and for undertaking site assessments. Before the EA can assess a site or consider providing an SCP, the school must submit a request, endorsed by the Board of Governors.

The EA has advised that there are currently no schools within the North Down constituency who have formally submitted a request for an SCP that are waiting for an assessment.
