Question:
To ask the Minister of Health, pursuant to AQW 15429/22-27, whether the regional medical workforce review of consultants, specialists and associated specialists has completed the review of cardiology staffing needs.

Answer:

As noted in response to AQW 47621/22-27, the Public Health Agency (PHA) has been carrying out a strategic workforce review of cardiology, with a primary focus on medical workforce, as part of my Department’s programme of strategic workforce reviews. This is a separate exercise from the previously referenced staffing baseline work undertaken by the Northern Ireland Cardiac Network. When that process is completed, the review report will be published on my Department’s website.
