To ask the Minister of Education for an update on the roll-out of an Administrative Officer role within special schools.

Answer:

The Education Authority have provided the following information;

The proposal to establish the role of Administrative Officer in Special Schools is being consulted on with the relevant Trade Unions. The closing date for response is Friday 11 September 2026. It is anticipated that following this date, any comments by Trade Unions will be addressed and the Special Schools’ Budgetary and Resourcing team will then make contact with Principals to progress the role for each school.
