To ask the Minister of Health whether the findings from the Belfast Hybrid Closed Loop pilot programme will inform the wider rollout of the Regional Insulin Pump Service.

Answer:

Yes, learning from the Belfast Hybrid Closed Loop pilot programme will inform the phased rollout of Hybrid Closed Loop technology by the Regional Insulin Pump Service.

The pilot will help refine operational arrangements, including patient onboarding, workforce and training requirements, and the monitoring of service outcomes. This learning will be considered alongside the recommendations in National Institute for Health and Care Excellence Technology Appraisal 943, the regional five-year implementation plan which is in development, clinical need and available resources, to support safe, effective and equitable implementation across Northern Ireland.
