Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail the number of schools his Department is investigating regarding compliance with the School Uniforms (Guidelines and Allowances) Act (Northern Ireland) 2026.

Answer:

My officials are analysing the results of the recent School Uniform cost survey. The survey was reopened from 14 to 18 September 2026 to provide schools that had failed to reply with a final opportunity to submit a response. Analysis is ongoing and representations will continue to be sought (per section 8 of the School Uniforms (Guidelines and Allowances) Act (Northern Ireland) 2026) from schools assessed by the Department as potentially not adhering to the requirements of the Act.
