Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities for an updated timeline for the next version of the Anti-Poverty Strategy.

Answer:

Following the public consultation, I asked my officials to refine the draft strategy to see how it can be improved. I have requested urgent action to maximise opportunities for ambition, collaboration and meaningful change to better deliver for the people of Northern Ireland. Alongside the Strategy, I will be bringing forward an Anti-Poverty Action Plan to drive forward this important work.

This work is moving at pace and I intend to have a revised draft of the Strategy and a complete action plan with my Executive colleagues for consideration before the end of the year.

I remain committed to ensuring that the Anti-Poverty Strategy is taken forward in the most effective and expeditious way possible, taking account of the need to develop a prioritised, affordable, sustainable and deliverable Strategy Action Plan.
