To ask the Minister of Finance whether any consideration has been given to amending the Land and Property Service Disposal of Surplus Land and Property process to include community organisations, prior to the asset going on sale on the open market.

Answer:

The Land and Property Services (LPS) Disposal of Surplus Public Sector Property NI Policy provides an opportunity for eligible Third Sector Organisations to express an interest in acquiring a surplus asset at Stage 2 of the Internal Market, Community Asset Transfer (CAT) Circulation, before it proceeds to the open market.

The policy was updated in June 2025 and strengthened the CAT process.
