To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister to detail how the value of the work of the Executive Economics Unit is assessed.

Answer:

The work carried out by the Executive Economics Unit is summarised in the answer to AQW 51884/22-27.

The value of the unit’s work is assessed through the contribution it makes to evidence-based decision-making across The Executive Office.

This includes providing impartial, timely, evidence-based briefing, analysis and advice on economic and business-related matters, including advice on the proportionate appraisal of expenditure decisions in line with accepted guidance on delivering value for money.
