Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure for an update on the delivery of Phase 2 of the Belfast Rapid Transit project.

Answer:

Following appointment of design consultants in April 2026, the project has progressed into the detailed design phase. Geotechnical investigation works are now underway at several locations to inform the design development, while engagement with key stakeholders continues. The current programme indicates that construction could commence in 2027, subject to the timely granting of the necessary planning and environmental approvals by the Council.
