Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities whether any assessment has been made by his Department of the impact of reductions to the Local Growth Fund on disabled people’s ability to enter and remain in employment, including those who rely on a Motability Scheme vehicle to travel to work or training.

Answer:

My Department recognises the significant impact of the reductions in Local Growth Fund, both to organisations in the community and voluntary sector, and to the more than 8,000 people who are projected to fail to benefit from support.

Local Growth Fund expenditure on employability projects is currently administered by the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government. Detailed information is not available to make a specific assessment on impacts for those who rely on a Motability Scheme vehicle.
