Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail when a road safety assessment will be conducted for the Soldierstown Road, Aghalee.

Answer:

Road safety is a high priority for my Department, and we are committed to working proactively to make our roads safer and to address the needs of all road users.

However, my Department has been operating in a difficult financial environment for a number of years and limited budget resources mean we must prioritise our interventions to those locations deemed most in need. An assessment of the Soldierstown Road was undertaken in June 2026 and regrettably, when assessed against these competing priorities, the proposal did not score highly enough for inclusion in the current works programme.

The scheme will, however, remain on our list for future consideration should funding become available.
