Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to detail the recognised qualification standards for swimming teachers accepted by his Department and Sport NI.

Answer:

The recognised qualification standards for swimming teachers are not a matter for my Department or Sport NI.

The Chief Executive of Sport NI has advised me as follows:-

“Qualification standards for swimming instructors are a matter for Swim Ulster as the recognised National Governing Body for swimming in Northern Ireland and the Swimming Teachers Association (UK wide organisation).”
