To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether she will use the Review of Class C Taxi Licensing to make all taxis and ride-sharing vehicles subject to the same regulated (i) roof signage; (ii) transparent metering; and (iii) maximum fares.

Answer:

I can confirm that the review of Class C taxi licensing has considered all aspects of the Class C licensing system, including regulated roof signage, metering; and maximum fares.

Officials have provided me with an options paper and I am scheduled to meet with them to discuss potential reforms. Any proposals arising from the review will be subject to public consultation before decisions are taken. Subject to Assembly approval, my intention is to progress any necessary changes before the end of the mandate.
