To ask the Minister of Education to detail any actions taken to date as part of the Restructuring of the Schools Estate section of his Five-Year Education Budget Strategy.

Answer:

I am currently considering the establishment of an Independent Area Planning Commission to develop a strategic blueprint and practical implementation programme for a sustainable education system.

Its work would be about planning responsibly for future generations and ensuring that the interests of children and young people remain at the centre of decision-making.
