To ask the Minister for Regional Development whether his Department is considering proposals to proceed with the EWAY Rapid Transit scheme on the Upper Newtownards Road, East Belfast.

Answer:

At present, the Rapid Transit project is moving into the preliminary design stage and Rapid Transit Division is examining all the route options to confirm the findings of the Strategic Outline Case. This includes the Upper Newtownards Road in East Belfast.
