Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs to detail (i) a list of all categories and species of trees that are allowed into Northern Ireland from Great Britain; (ii) a list of all categories and species of trees that are not allowed into Northern Ireland from Great Britain; and (iii) whether his Department is involved in the working group set up under Command Paper 1021 to consider these issues.

Answer:

Matters relating to the movement of trees from Great Britain to Northern Ireland are now subject to the direction and control of the Secretary of State as provided for in regulation 3 of the Windsor Framework (Implementation) Regulations 2024.

I understand that the Horticultural Working Group has been established by the UK Government. To date my Department has not received an invitation to attend.
