Motion TitleDepartment for Regional Development's Management of Budgets

Motion TextThat this Assembly notes that the Committee for Regional Development has lost confidence in the Department for Regional Development’s ability to effectively manage and maintain its budgets, as a result of an over-reliance on in-year monitoring, Translink’s statement that it will cease to trade within the next two years, the potential for infraction proceedings arising from a lack of investment in waste water treatment plants and the risk of the Department exceeding its 2014-2015 budgetary control limits; and calls on the Minister for Regional Development to explain how he intends to negate these risks and to set out his financial strategy for the next financial period.
