Expand Community-Based Audiology Services

Expand Community-Based Audiology Services
That this Assembly notes with concern the significant waiting lists for adult audiology services across Health and Social Care Trusts; recognises that the majority of cases relate to uncomplicated, age-related hearing loss which could be effectively managed in a community setting; further notes the well-established links between untreated hearing loss, social isolation, and increased risk of dementia; and calls on the Minister of Health to explore options for expanding community-based audiology provision to improve access, reduce waiting times, and relieve pressure on hospital services.
