Motion TitleBuilding Political Consensus

Motion TextThat this Assembly recognises that Northern Ireland faces a number of long-standing and increasingly urgent challenges which cannot be left unaddressed; notes that issues including health transformation, wastewater infrastructure and the sustainability of the school estate have remained unresolved across successive mandates; believes that addressing these challenges will require difficult decisions, sustained investment and political leadership beyond any single party or electoral cycle; further believes that continued political disagreement cannot be allowed to become a barrier to necessary reform; and commits to work together to build a new political consensus on these key challenges, agreeing a shared set of priorities and actions as part of a new Programme for Government, underpinned by a multi-year budget.
