Addition of Vitamins, Minerals and Other Substances Regulations

The Chairperson (Mr Gildernew): These are Food Standards Agency statutory rules (SRs). The second rule revokes the first rule, so I would like to check whether members are content to hold any questions until the replacement SR is laid. Essentially, we are not dealing with an SR that will be laid. One was laid, it has been revoked, and the second one that we will consider is the one that revokes it. Officials will attend to outline the new SR. Are members content to proceed on that basis?

Members indicated assent.

The Chairperson (Mr Gildernew): The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has advised that SR 2020/310 contains drafting errors and has been revoked. The FSA further advises that the SL1 for the replacement SR will be with the Committee in the next few weeks. Are members content to note that?

Members indicated assent.

Addition of Vitamins, Minerals and Other Substances (Amendment) (Revocation) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020

The Chairperson (Mr Gildernew): The Food Standards Agency advises that SR 2020/341 revokes SR 2020/310. The Examiner of Statutory Rules has advised that the rule was laid in breach of the 21-day rule but that she is content that a satisfactory explanation has been given.

Do members have any issues that they wish to raise in connection with the statutory rule? No. Thank you, members.

I ask members to agree formally that the Committee for Health has considered the Addition of Vitamins, Minerals and Other Substances (Amendment) (Revocation) Regulations (NI) 2020 and has no objection to the rule. Are we agreed?

Question put and agreed to.
